Blavod Drinks bought the white spirits side of Blackwood’s Distillery in 2008, including the Blackwood brand name. The Distillery, based in the Shetland Isles off the coast of Scotland in the UK, was originally founded as Blackwood Distillers Holdings Plc in 2002. With a rich history, their viking heritage is reflected in the drinks branding, with the Gin being launched in 2003. Unfortunately they went into financial administration resulting in Blavod Drinks taking over. One of the shareholders of Blavod, with a 17% stake, is Howard Raymond of West End Drinks Ltd. |
