History

Heaven Hill is the USA’s largest family run distillery (and the last remaining independent family run one in Kentucky), and whilst best known for its Bourbon, its range of products makes it the 7th largest distiller in the country. Founded in 1934 the first master distiller was Joseph Beam (cousin to Jim Beam) and this role at the distillery has remained in the Beam family ever since – currently father and son team Parker & Craig Beam.

The Aristocrat label was first marketed in 1991.

Tasting Notes

On the nose is pine (juniper), light citrus with notes of alcohol. This is replicated on the palate with a stronger alcohol burn. Whilst not a smooth sipping Gin, this is a very low price one (probably the cheapest Gin available in the USA) making it popular with people on restricted budgets e.g. students. It is best used as a spirit to mix in long drinks and punches and may be found in a bartenders’ “well”.
