Name

Unknown, although Bloomsbury, a district of London does have strong connections with Gin. In particular: The picture "Gin Lane" by William Hogarth is believed to depict a street in Bloomsbury; and Alexander Gordon (of Gordon’s Gin fame and the possible creator of London Dry Gin) first established a Distillery in Bloomsbury. The use of “Sloe” in the title clearly refers to the dominant flavoring in this Gin.

Tasting Notes

On the nose is dark red fruit (plum). On the palate this semi-sweet spirit has plum like sloe with spice notes. The close is fruity with warming spice notes in the finish.

As with many Sloe Gins this makes for a nice final course drink with dinner or an after dinner winter warmer. Whilst it does not possess the complexities of some of the top Sloe Gins it is more than suitable for long summer drinks with Soda, Lemonade, Tonic etc.
