Sloe Crafts Damson Gin

Distillery

Sloe Crafts, Lorbottle, Thropton, Morpeth, Northumberland, England, UK.

Website

Sloe Crafts.

History

The Lorbottle West Steads Farm has been in the Farr family for generations and they have produced their own Sloe Gin for nearly as long.

We believe this commercial enterprise was started around 2004 with Helen Farr’s signature item - Sloe Gin – and now has a small range of additional products in their portfolio (including other liqueurs - like this Damson Gin - and preserves).

Production

Uses an undisclosed Gin and damsons gathered from the surrounding area.

The red colored Gin is presented in an unusual shaped bottle – a rectangular base with sloping corners that significantly narrow at the top.

Category

Flavored Gin - Damson.

Alcohol By Volume (ABV)

26% (52 Proof).

Price Range

$$$$$. Not available in the USA. This is a seasonal item and is when available for delivery is only within the UK, via the Sloe Crafts website.

Botanicals

Unknown but includes damsons.

Name

The name is self explanatory but gives an indication of an artisinal product made with care rather than a speedily made mass-produced spirit, using the key botanical flavoring of damsons.

Tasting Notes

Unfortunately we have not tasted this yet, so we are unable to provide any personal review. However, we understand from Sloe Crafts this spirit is fruity, warming, smooth and slightly sweeter than their signature Sloe Gin.

Awards & Accolades

Unknown.
