Where Men Can Become Better Gentlemen

Adventure

Excuses for not undertaking them!

Raison D'Etre

Like many things in life, there are always excuses for not doing something, that we know in our hearts we should.

We do not live to eat and make money. We eat and make money to be able to live. That is what life means and what life is for. - George Mallory.

Senses

For most people their daily schedule runs something like this: Get up, shower, eat breakfast, travel to work, spend 8 hours at work, travel home, eat dinner, watch TV and go to bed. Add in things like taking care of kids, animals, exercise, laundry, cleaning and maintenance  - and the net result is your week has gone. Is this all there is to life? What is there to look forward to? Where has our sense of exploration and adventure gone? Have we left our passions behind with our childhood?

An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered; an adventure is an inconvenience rightly considered. - G. K. Chesterton.

Breaking Bad

It is very difficult to break habits, these routines which may have developed, perhaps across years: I don’t have the time; I can’t afford it; Who will look after…(insert your choice of pet, spouse, children, parents, plants etc.)? There is always a reason not to, so why not work on solutions instead. We have a whole host of suggestions, some requiring very little time or money…so no excuses left…sorry! How do you break a habit? In the words of a Nike slogan: Just Do It! Check out our suggestions for First Steps in Adventure.

No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit. – Helen Keller.
