This husband and wife team had been making
home made wine for many years, with friends and family continually asking for
more. So they turned their hobby into a micro-winery, located on the Eastern
shore of Maryland, launching it in 2008. They concentrate on the production of lightly
sweet (semi-sweet) wines infused with fruit. Due to local restrictions, the winery cannot accept visitors or provide sampling on site. |
They produce less than 200 cases each year
and sell through local Maryland retailers. At these quantities, bottles are
hand filled and labelled. We understand they are seeking to increase production
levels and we eagerly look forward to the day they can sell their wine direct! |

dessert wine. |
Like all their products the base port is
masked, but not unpleasantly so, by the fruit - it is the star of the show. In
this case, the raspberry is joined with chocolate and they make a good team.
The chocolate and berry is on the nose and just entice you to try it – even if
you think it might be a novelty! The chocolate bursts upon the palate with the
raspberry following behind, and any thought of this being a novelty product is
promptly forgotten. The port is smooth, nicely balanced and not too sweet. It is our favorite offering from Far Eastern Shore and one can never wait patiently until the next dinner party, to eagerly serve this with dessert. |
